Hat-trick of podiums for James Egozi and championship lead

Palou Motorsport kicked off the 2026 Eurocup-3 season with a very solid performance at the iconic Circuit Paul Ricard. In what proved to be a highly promising opening weekend, James Egozi delivered an outstanding hat-trick of podium finishes, placing him at the top of the drivers’ championship standings after the first round.

Egozi’s performance was exceptional throughout, showcasing consistency, pace, and impressive racecraft on one of Europe’s most technical circuits. These results strengthen his title ambitions and underline the strong work carried out by the team during pre-season.

The weekend also brought several positive results for the team. Heitor Dallagnol secured a podium as the third-best Rookie in the Sprint Race, confirming a promising start to his campaign. Meanwhile, Perard delivered a solid performance with a sixth-place finish in Race 1, contributing valuable points to the team’s tally.

Bustamante’s progress was also evident, achieving a commendable P18 in the Sprint Race, further highlighting his development following his participation in the SWC.

In the teams’ standings, Palou Motorsport currently holds second place, reinforcing its competitiveness in an increasingly demanding championship.

The 2026 Eurocup-3 season began at Le Castellet as the fourth campaign of the series, sharing the stage with the prestigious European Le Mans Series (ELMS). With a full 30-car grid and a highly competitive international field, the opening round confirmed the continued growth and strength of the category.

The next round will take place on the weekend of June 5–7 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where Palou Motorsport will aim to build on its strong start to the season.
